Refund Policy

Understanding transaction finality.

1. Entry Fee Finality

Once a match has concluded and a winner is declared by the server, all entry fees are final. You cannot request a refund simply because you lost a match or made a blunder.

2. Technical Errors

If a match is interrupted due to a verifiable RIOCHESS server failure, the match will be voided, and entry fees will be automatically refunded to both players' internal wallets.

Note: Disconnections caused by your own internet service provider (ISP) or device failure are counted as a resignation and are not eligible for refunds.

3. Cheating Victim Refunds

If you lose a match to a player who is later banned for cheating (engine usage), RIOCHESS will attempt to refund your entry fee from the cheater's confiscated funds.

If the cheater has already withdrawn their funds, RIOCHESS may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund from our Fair Play Insurance Fund, though this is not guaranteed.

4. Cryptocurrency & Gas Fees

Blockchain network fees ("gas") incurred during deposits are paid to the network miners/validators, not to RIOCHESS. Therefore, gas fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

If you send crypto to the wrong address, we cannot recover it. Always double-check deposit addresses.

5. Dispute Resolution

Disputes regarding match outcomes must be filed within 24 hours of the match conclusion via the Support Ticket system. Decisions made by the RIOCHESS Fair Play team regarding disputes are final.
